Just had a family get together with 7 adults and 2 children at this lovely spacious place. Highly recommended, everything you need, very clean and loads of room. Well kitted out and fabulous location to explore the Norfolk coast. Lots of board games, beautiful large rooms and 3 bathrooms. Ideal for dogs and a very short walk to the salt Marsh which is more or less on the doorstep. Will definitely return when we can all get together again. Wonderful place, very peaceful location. Loved watching flocks of geese flying over and hearing the early morning chorus of lots of birds. Lovely walks. Julie P Mar 22

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Hawthorns. The position is so peaceful and within a minutes walk to the salt marshes. We used the Coast Hopper bus several time to visit Cromer and to bring us back to the village from walks to Blakeney and Wells. You will find a very comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen. The second lounge is a real bonus. Thank you Rosie for being so caring about our specific needs. We will be back! Alison C Feb 22

A first-class cottage. It's really well-designed for a group of 5-8 people, with spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large and well-equipped kitchen, and two lounge/sitting areas. It's located on the edge of a large field and there's really no one to the east all the way to Marston, so it's a very peaceful setting. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and our stay was superbly relaxing. It's truly one of the gems of the Norfolk coast. Brad B, Norwich Dec 20

Hawthorns is a Top Rate house in a stunning location. We walked for miles, straight from the garden and the 2 labradors were in heaven. We will definitely be going back again and we would award 6 stars if we could. Simply magical. Geoff C, Herefordshire Oct 20

This was our second stay at The Hawthorns, we love this place. The location is perfect just a couple of minutes walk from the salt marshes and then miles of beautiful sandy beaches. The house is light, spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. You have a good pub in the village and Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham & Blakeney within walking distance along the coastal path or a short drive. What’s not to like. Sue A, Essex Aug 20

This place far exceeded our expectations. It's a wonderful home. So much space and beautifully decorated. Has everything you could need. The location is amazing - 1 minute to the salt marshes, 5 mins to a great pub, and ten minutes in the car to Wells Next the Sea (or 30 mins on a bike). We loved it. Will definitely return. I highly recommend this place! Dani L, London Jul 20

Visited Stiffkey in March of this year and stayed in this lovely cottage with a group of friends. Beautiful and a very high standard of accommodation. Great walks, local pubs and picturesque setting. We will definitely be returning. - Mark F, Watford Mar 20

We have been lucky to have stayed at Hawthorns on a number of occasions, and at various times of the year. It's one of those places where, no sooner do we leave, than we start looking forward to our next visit.
Right from the front door you can walk down to the Salt Marshes where you can walk either towards Wells or Blakeney. You are spoilt for choice for beautiful walks, bike rides (cycle paths) and of course the many pristine beaches in the area. Our favourite is Holkham Beach but they are all stunning. And of course, you can't be in the area without visiting Sandringham and wander through Houghton Hall.
Another favourite of ours is to visit Holt and its many traditional shops and of course to eat at Byfords. The food in the area is superb, some of our other favourites are the Wiveton Bell and Bang in Wells. Picnic Fayre, a quaint speciality food market in Cley has amazing artisan bread, cakes, wine, cheese and a great delicatessen. In Stiffkey itself you can walk to the Red Lion and also to Stiffkey Stores where you can do your shopping and sit outside with a cup of coffee before walking back to Hawthorns.
Hawthorns itself is a spacious and very comfortable house which is very well equipped, set in its own grounds with plenty of space for BBQ's and for children to play safely. We just love it and can't wait to go again. - Macleod Family, Harpenden Sept 2019

I have been to this cottage with friends and elderly family - due to the layout it is very versatile with 2 downstairs bathrooms and a choice of single or double beds. As well as an upstairs bathroom. It has always been clean, warm and dog friendly. The garden is safe for young children and dogs. The walks are on your doorstep.
I love the spacious living areas with the 2 sitting rooms enabling mixed interests when we have a large group.I have been pleased with the cooking facilities which cover all the requirements I have needed. I love the quiet position and have no hesitation recommending this as a great family holiday cottage. Or for a group of friends who enjoy walking, eating and drinking! - Jackson Family, Leics

As a regular visitor, I can highly recommend Hawthorns. It's always spotlessly clean, welcoming and very comfortable in every respect. Over the years the owners have continued to update, renew, and improve anything in need, so as to offer all that is required for an exceptional holiday. A real home from home!
The location is just superb! We love going to Hawthorns. We're back again in May this year, and hope to be continuing to return for many years to come! - Jane M, East Sussex

I have stayed at Hawthorns twice with friends and family. This is a beautiful house which is very well equipped and comfortable. The house is in a peaceful location with beautiful views to the front and the back. We stayed in the winter and the house was very warm and inviting. There is plenty of space for two families with two separate lounges.
I would not hesitate to return and happily recommend this house. - Catherine C, Ware
